Welcome!

30 DEC 2025
Surrealist Composition by Suzzane van Damme c. 1943
I wanted to welcome you to this journal with a work of art — because there is no more fitting threshold to cross.
This space is intended as a haven. A corner of the internet devoted to the things that have quietly consumed me. Chief among them is classical music. I find myself endlessly drawn to the mathematical precision of Bach's keyboard works, to the volcanic grandeur of Liszt's concertos and to the hypnotic stillness of Philip Glass, three composers who feel like three entirely different answers to the same profound question. I intend to analyze, dissect and occasionally lose myself in all of it.
But my obsessions don't stop at music. I am an equally devoted lover of the visual arts, a loving follower of Klimt's gilded fever dreams and a deep admirer of the Dutch Golden Age. One of my sincerest life goals is to stand before the Ghent Altarpiece in person. I have a feeling the Garden of Earthly Delights will find me eventually, too.
What holds all of this together is a belief I keep returning to: that genuine appreciation for art is not a luxury but something that perseveres through and ultimately overcomes the weight of daily life. This journal is my attempt to hold onto that belief and to share it.
With an undying hope to meet you in a better future,
My warmest regards.
